The Avett Brothers at Vancouver Folk Music Festival

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival returns for its 33rd year July 16 – 18th at Jericho Beach Park and all the way from Concord, North Carolina The Avett Brothers will be taking to the main stage Friday night.

Known for the rousing intensity of their live shows, Scott and Seth Avett’s music combines bluegrass, country, punk, pop/rock, folk and even ragtime and honky-tonk.

I have two tickets to give away to The Avett Brothers performance as well as a copy of their album, I And Love And You.

Here’s how to enter to win tickets to see The Avett Brothers at the 2010 Vancouver Folk Music Festival:

      I’m a huge Avett Brothers fan and I’d love to go to Folk Fest! I missed a chance to see them last year and it would make my life a lot more complete! Also, Calexico is playing the same day and they are incredible.

      Thanks for this update…and great for the Folk Festival! I love folk music.

      I would like to point out however that, while the effort and organization that goes into Vancouver’s Folk Fest is highly appreciated (and among the best in the world), the Vancouver Folk Festival represents all that is wrong with Vancouver (particularly zoning and outdated liquor and live music regulations).

      Vancouver’s Folk Fest is elitist, expensive and non-accessible; this is the kind of thing that goes against what a “folk” festival should be. If I remember correctly, you are barely allowed to enjoy a glass of wine or beer without being caged off like a zoo animal.

      Visit Seattle’s Folklife sometime for a taste of a what a truly fun folk festival should be about: free, open access, beer gardens and live music everywhere (http://www.nwfolklife.org/)

      Please don’t stand for the status quo. Please wake up CoV!

      I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Avett Brothers!! I just got engaged and all I can ever sing is there one song “In January…we’re gettin married…” maybe we’ll play it at the wedding! 🙂 My fiance loves them too and we’d be sooooo super stoked to go see them! We live right by Jericho but tickets are so expensive so we thought we’d just try to hear them over the fence. Obvs, it would be way sweeter to be inside! Pick me 🙂
