Global Agents for Change Gala Evening

Comments 1 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Global Agents for Change, a foundation that develops creative ways for young people to explore issues and take action, is hosting their annual gala tomorrow night. A part of the event is an awards ceremony where youth are recognized for their achievements over the past year.

The two award categories include:

Youth Acting Globally Award
This award recognizes an Individual or a group of youth who have taken initiative and are positively impacting the world via projects with a global perspective.

Youth Acting Locally Award
This award recognizes an individual or a group of youth who have taken initiative and are positively impacting their local community.

Eight individuals will be recognized at the event, within these two categories.

Global Agents for Change runs several major programs such as Riding to Break the Cycle, Education Generation, Young Agents for Change and The Microcredit Challenge. All have to do with education, mentorship, and empowering youth to help make a difference either with issues they truly believe in. I actually had a guest post last year from Chris Walts who wrote about Riding to Break the Cycle. Chris got on his bike and pedaled 4000km from Amsterdam to Istanbul last summer for his cause.

The gala and awards ceremony takes place tomorrow, March 27th, at 6:30pm in the Vancity Theatre/Vancouver International Film Centre (1181 Seymour St).

I have two tickets to give away to this event which I’ll draw for later today. If you would like to attend the gala please leave a comment or re-tweet the following:
