The Live Sessions: Ali Milner and Jets Overhead

The Chan Centre at UBC has been hosting a series of music showcases over the last few weeks called the Live Sessions. The featured artists are all Canadian singers, songwriters and bands. It’s been a great opportunity to see these artists for a low-dough $15 ticket before they inevitably make it big on the world’s stage.

I have two tickets to the next two performances to give away; both feature BC artists. The first is for Whistler’s Ali Milner coming up on October the 1st and the second (and final performance of Live Sessions series) will be Victoria’s own Jets Overhead on October 8th.

Supporting homegrown talent is key to building a strong local music community. If you would like to see these acts at the Live Sessions please leave a comment below including the following:

  • Which you would like to see (Ali Milner, Jets Overhead, or both)
  • and also list your favourite BC musician or group

    • Update: Paige was the winner of the Ali Milner tickets. The tickets for Jets Overhead will still be up for grabs until next Wednesday.

    Update: I drew Liam as the winner of the Jets Overhead tickets but he can’t make it so next up is Warwick. Thanks to everyone for entering!

      Would love to see Jet’s Overhead. My favourite local act is “Said The Whale” at the moment. We have so much good talent right now in this city!

      Ooooh I was going to say that I was torn between Bryan Adams and Nardwuar the Human Serviette but someone picked Bryan and perhaps she wasn’t being ironic?

      I’ll change my answer to the Be Good Tanyas.

      I’d be thrilled to attend either show.

      I didnt get to make it to the Hey Ocean! show.. i think their pretty up there on my list of local talent..
