Today isn’t one of my writing days, in fact I’m in and out of meetings until about 4:00pm however I’m getting so many great emails and noticing so much great content online lately, I simply must make time for a quick link fest (even though it’s no longer morning):
Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day — wear pink and show your support to stop bullying in schools (and might I add, online).
In the style of Colbert and The Daily Show, a new Vancouver-based parody news show The CityNews debuts tonight. Shouldn’t they have Sean Orr hosting this though?
Jeans Day is coming up, benefiting the BC Childrens Hospital Foundation. Check out their Facebook page and have the chance to view some special Jeans Day Canucks hockey cards within the next month.
On March 7th stay home, stay in, hang out on your couch and do your part to help feed hungry families in New York with this super easy & effective fundraiser (a concept that I think Vancouverites could easily apply to a cause here at home as well).
Looking for a great little day trip escape? How about Point Roberts, Washington, which is only a bus ride and a jump away from downtown as Keira discovered.
New sites that have come onto my radar since Northern Voice include: My Hockey Canada, Vancouver Tech, and Later Comics.
If you didn’t win one of my passes to see the film One Week you can check it out tomorrow with the First Weekend Club. For a small fee you can screen what looks like a Canadian road trip epic. The First Weekend Club will meet at the District 319 Theatre on Main Street (which is amazing inside with its red leather armchairs) and they will have a wine reception before the film featuring a musical performance by none other than Rachael Chatoor.
Speaking of Rachael, she ran into Blondie the other night at one of her shows and blogged about hanging out with the legendary group.
On a final note, please consider entering my contest to win tickets to the California Wine Fair that will be happening downtown next month. If you have an event or link to share, please feel free to leave it in the comments or email it to my contact form.
