belly & chopsDo you ever get paranoid when you’re blogging out of a coffee shop and think that people walking by you may read your screen and judge you based on what they see? I got a few looks from “Adult Halloween Fun” this morning so I changed the title of the post slightly. Here’s a list of events and news items that all ages can enjoy:

  • VancityBuzz has a thorough list of Halloween events around town this season including: Haunted Trolley Tours, Potter’s House of Horrors (in Surrey), Dunbar Halloween Haunted House, Fright Nights at the PNE, Stanley Park Hallowe’en Ghost Train, World of Weird @ Vancouver Aquarium.
  • The Children of the Street society fears costumes in recent years are becoming “too sexy” for kids. [News1130]
  • The Lonsdale Quay is having a Halloween event for families on October 25th and 26th.
  • There’s also a family pumpkin carving event in Burnaby this weekend.
  • Domo takes over Target

  • The North Surrey Rec Centre is hosting Halloween Howl Saturday, October 25th.
  • The Vancouver Halloween website has a list of events in malls as well as noting which are offering trick or treating this year.
  • Looking for a pumpkin patch? Try this post by sis604 for her recommendations.
  • Stanley Park isn’t the only place for a haunted Halloween train. You can also check out the Burnaby Village Museum or Bear Creek Park in Surrey.
  • HauntedVancouver is a blog that appears only around this time of year with a big list of events and things to look out for in the city.
  • Head to The Party Bazaar for all your costume needs – or you can check out the selection at some of the adult “specialty” stores on Davie Street.
  • According to CNBC, the top ten costumes for adults in 2008 will be…. 10. Angel 9. Ghost 8. Political (Obama and McCain masks) 7. Batman (the Dark Knight) 6. Nurse 5. Fairy 4. Cat 3. Vampire 2. Pirate 1. Witch. How these differ from any other year, I’m not too sure.
  • "Sexy" Mountie

Still one of my favorite Halloween blog quotes: “Proof that “Mean Girls” was right… … at least with regard to Halloween when Cady said “Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” You know what she’s talking about. The Cop becomes the Slutty Cop, the Nurse becomes the Slutty Nurse, and the Sheep becomes the Slutty Sheep [Metroblogging Atlanta].

The Joker doesn’t make the top ten?

A friend of mine is having a “Halloween Haunt” in Vancouver. It’s an annual event and all donations are going to the Vancouver Food Bank.

You can learn more about it here: Black Rose Cemetery

I’m still undecided as to what I’m dressing up as for Halloween. And I still haven’t been invited to any parties 🙁

@ Jeremy – Thanks for sharing – looks SPOOKY
@ Raul – I know, I have no idea what to be this year 🙁

Thanks for the link and for listing other events going on around town. I too am bewildered that the Joker didn’t make the list?

I think Sarah Palin would be a great costume for a woman.
