I really enjoyed talking about all things WordPress during the morning and afternoon sessions of BarCamp that past weekend. I want to thank the BarCamp organizers for arranging such an amazing space for WordCamp and for allowing us to run this mini-camp in tandem. Also many thanks go to the presenters, along with Duane and John for making it happen, duct tape and all.

If you were present at WordCamp you may have heard me mention a donated prize. We currently have a license for Artisteer up for grabs.

Artisteer is the first and only web design automation product that instantly creates fantastic looking, unique website templates and Blog themes.

  • Design awesome WordPress Blogs and professional websites in Minutes
  • Easy to Use
  • No need to learn Photoshop, CSS, HTML or other technologies
  • Export as WordPress Theme or CMS Template
  • With Artisteer you immediately become a Web design expert, editing and slicing graphics, coding XHTML and CSS, and creating Web design templates and WordPress themes – all in minutes, without Photoshop or Dreamweaver, and no technical skills.

To win this license, leave a comment below with any type of feedback from WordCamp; the topic you found the most useful, your favourite new plugin, how much you’re looking forward to BuddyPress, the room was too dark, anything of that nature.

You can still enter if you were not able to make it to WordCamp, just leave some feedback based on the wiki notes. I’ll draw a winner from the comments on Friday.

      Technically I can’t enter the contest as I wasn’t there ๐Ÿ™

    2. Miss604 says:

Raul, the last part of my posts says you can – just check the wiki notes or my live blog and comment about anything I have up there ๐Ÿ™‚

    3. Jeremy Lim says:

Wish I had seen the wiki notes earlier; I would have loved to have contributed to the SEO discussion.

At any rate, Lifestream is definitely the first plug-in I’m nabbing when I re-launch my blog. A word of warning though: none of the links are nofollow, so I’d be cautious about bleeding link juice out.

    4. Allie says:

I don’t need a license, but I just wanted to say that Artisteer is AWESOME. I used it to create my theme and I found it very very useful, and super easy to use.

Thanks for all your reviews on the BarCamp and local Vancouver events… very informative!

    5. Alvin says:

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the info at WordCamp/BarCamp. Newbie to WordPress so it was great to pick up some more tips about it and will be installing one soon.

Looking forward to BuddyPress, as was mentioned, one of its potential uses would be for those clients that would like an internal social network built for their company.

    6. Mark says:

Windows only according to the website, shame as it looks like a cracking app.

So as a potential winner but Mac user, I’d like to donate my potential prize to whoever potentially comes second, should I win.

    7. Keith says:

First off, it was great to meet some of the guys from Automattic during WordCamp@BarCamp on the weekend. Great to know that they’ll come out to little ol’ community events and help give us some of the inside scoop on what’s coming for the process.

((Also thanks to the Automattic crew for the lunch beer!))

As for artisteer, all I can say is wow. Got the demo, looks GREAT. I’d be willing to set up another Windows VM just so I can run it on my macbook. My blog needs a new theme. Bad. So here’s hoping!
