I have so many mini topics to cover that if I were to write a blog post for each people would get annoyed about how I’m too prolific and my feed would swamp their readers and it would just be a mess. On that note, if you’d like to simply get my feed (without Flickr photos too) you can grab it here, or stay with the main feed, cause it’s pretty fun.

  • The EPIC Sustainable Living Expo is “Vancouver’s largest green consumer show and eco-marketplace”. It will be taking place April 18-20th at the Vancouver Convention Centre (Canada Place) and will feature a personal hero of mine, Mike Holmes, whom I hope will one day agree to oversee the construction of Casa de Bollwitt (a gal can dream). Mike will be hitting the main stage on Saturday the 19th so be sure not to miss his green construction and reno advice along with the oodles of other workshops and demos that will be featured at the show.
  • In West End news, if you haven’t been to the Cupcake store lately you may not know that due to its popularity a slough of other sweet-related shops have opened up around it along Denman between Comox and Davie ie. that new chocolate shop and the revival of Cookies by George. Well with the closing of Primo Gelato on the corner of the alley right before Davie (just after Pendrell), it turns out the Cupcake shop has relocated to this prime piece of real estate leaving Cookies by George in their dust.
  • On another sweet note, the viral marketing company out of Toronto, Matchstick, has another promotion. They’re the company that supplied John and I with such items as our Nokia 6682 cell phones and the Samsung T10. This time around it’s all about premium chocolate, so if you’re a female blogger in Vancouver and you have a sweet tooth, simply fill out their survey, they’ll then contact you and mail you the Dove “Pleasure Kit”, oh my!
  • Tonight Michael Geist will be speaking about e-publishing and the law at UBC although I will be unable to attend. Not to worry though, I have enlisted Raul as my Miss604.com correspondent for the evening. He’ll be live blogging and writing a post about his experience at the talk and cross posting over here. Big thanks in advance to Raul for his efforts.
  • What I am also missing tonight, mostly due to geography, is the first ever DemoCamp Victoria. I’ve liveblogged most of Vancouver’s DemoCamps, and even caught Mastermaq’s live Twitters of DemoCamp Edmonton so it will be great to see how things go over on the Island. I have a feeling we may be able to find a recap of DemoCamp Victoria over on Tris’ blog.
  • I happened to catch on the radio yesterday that REM is coming to town, and Modest Mouse is opening up for them, AND they’ll be playing Deer Lake Park. The only thing that could make this any better were to be if the cupcake store had a booth setup at the concert.

  • Modest Mouse – Missed the Boat

  • As it turns out, my husband is feeling under the weather and since he was so good to me when I was ill in March, I will be staying home tonight to make him tea, cook him some dinner, and check “buy” on the Canucks pay per view. If you ordered the game on March 17th when Shaw had the outage in the 3rd period, you will be getting a refund. I got my bill last night (which should have included that day) but apparently they’re applying the credit on the billing cycle that starts March 24th.
  • Finally, I went to get my passport yesterday morning. I met my mother at 7:00am and we headed over to Sinclair Centre. We took the elevator up to the second floor, got a ticket from reception, and about 20 minutes later both of our applications were in. If you need to apply for your passport or renew, I would highly suggest that now is the time to do it.
  • That’s it for now, happy (sunny) Thursday everyone!

Aww Cupcakes is moving down the street? My girlfriend lives on Comox 1 block from Denman and its nice to pop in to get one of the mini cupcakes. Guess we’ll have to go just a bit further!

On the note about Passport applications it’s even quicker if you fill out the forms online, print them and bring them in. You get to jump the line and you’re application is quicker because all the information is already filled out for them! My brother was at the Surrey office for no more than 15 minutes. People were upset he got to jump the line up because they’ve been waiting for more than an hour etc.
