I woke up this morning thinking this would be a pretty breezy week until I took a look at my calendar, and at the media passes for conferences this weekend and realize it’s back to business as usual for Miss604. Admittedly, my posts lately have been my staple Link Fest mixed with absent days but I’m back now, and I’m healthy – at least until this next round of craziness washes over.
Tonight I’ll hit Workspace for the first time since DemoCamp05 to take part in the Evening of Green 2.0. The evening will feature our Brother Printer and Wall Street Journal sugar daddy Darren Barefoot (talking about DeSmogBlog), Ron Williams who founded happyfrog (note the badge on my sidebar), and Rex Turgano founder of TheGreenPages. This is a part of the NetTuesday event series.
This weekend is the Young Women in Business “Beyond Pink” conference. Thanks to some diligent organizers, I’ll be sporting my media access around the tradeshow floor and mingling with other enterprising young women from around BC, some of which I’ll see again at the following morning’s event.
Saturday we have the Bridging Media one day conference. I’ll be the official live blogger of this inaugural gathering created by Megan Cole and Erica Hargreave (and organized with the assistance of Cinci, Monique, Carol and Monica). The objective is to, “open the channels of communication between the broadcast and digital media communities. We aim to increase an understanding of our respective industries and strengthen our approach to building multi-platform projects.”
Next Tuesday is also the Massive Technology Show. Between my panel/speaker access and a media pass, I’ll be making my way around the conference and tradeshow floor, more than likely on the lookout for those famous Peer1 martinis.
In non tech, digital media, or womanly conference matters –
Thanks for Jordan of Langley Politics, I’ve been informed of the Fort Langley Candlelight Tour happening on Saturday March 29th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Fort Langley.
Thursday April 3rd will see Victoria’s first ever DemoCamp (more info on the wiki).
We returned home yesterday on a 3 hour ferry ride that took us from Salt Spring to Pender Island, Mayne Island, Galiano and back home by way of Tsawwassen. I think we’re ready for the busy week ahead which luckily starts off pretty slow and gets split up by a concert on Saturday, you know, to keep us a little grounded.
