The Miss604 Hockey Giveaway
byUPDATE:The winner has been announced – thanks to all that entered!
It’s contest time again! This time you won’t have to stand on one foot, pat your head and rub your belly at the same time.
This is the no-linking required contest that couldn’t be more simple to enter (but I mean hey, if you want to link…). This is purely out of reader appreciation, cause you all rock.
Starting RIGHT NOW all you need to do is leave a comment on this post or send an email to [email protected] and you’ll be entered to win the following hockey prize pack:
If you’re a hockey team and have some merchandise or tickets you’d like to drop into the prize pack, feel free to email the contest line as well and I’ll send links and praise your way.
You don’t have to be a blogger, all you need is access to a computer and possibly a love of local hockey, and you’re able to enter.
The contest will be open for one week, until Tuesday March 4th, so I can have enough time to alert the winner and get the prize pack to them. Also, be sure to leave a valid email address at which you can be reached if you’re simply leaving a comment.
That’s it, that’s all, just send an email or leave a comment – any comment – tell a knock knock joke or say hello, and you’ll be entered to win the hockey prize pack.
Fine print for fun: Miss604.com does not collect or store email information for any other purpose than to alert winners.

I was really hoping we would get Forsberg as he would have been a good fit with our team.
So no predictions at all?
(PS – Can you add the subscribe to comments plugin?)
Cool! I haven’t been to a Giants game yet this year, but I went to a few last year and they are fun!
(PS – I agree with Gary, I’d love to be able to subscribe to your comments!)
Beth & Gary: I use a http://co.mments.com to track comments on sites that you can’t subscribe to…works great.
I wrote a blog post about it…want to see it? (heh)
I guess this is technically my entry too.
This is going to sound corny and cheesy but hey whatever… I’m already considered dangerous for people with low sugar tolerance as I’ve been known to induce diabetic commas due to sweetness 😉
… I have learned to appreciate hockey thanks to The Crazy Canucks 🙂
Man… Richards just went to Dallas. Why would Tampa not want to do the same deal for Sanford, Isbister, and Cooke? (I would actually hate to part with Cooke)
My six-year old son would love to win this package. He lives for hockey and the Canucks! Every morning he wakes up and runs to the computer to check the video highlights on NHL.com. I am not kidding. He studies the standings and statistics and latest happenings in great detail and at great length.
With playoffs drawing close, he is paying more attention to divisional games and explains to me how each game being played that day affects Vancouver’s chances at making the playoffs (e.g. if Washington beats Nashville and Vancouver beats the Avs, then…). Only once he’s got his “fix” and after much prodding, does he start to get ready for school.
Myself, I’ve stopped watching the sports news, and instead just get my updates from my son. 🙂
So please accept this entry to the contest. Thanks.
I know, now they’re just going off on how Dallas will be a “powerhouse” now in the playoffs. Geez. Thanks, Hull.

Love the Giants and have only made it to one game this year and that was with 3 7 yr old boys. Sign me up for the contest!
As I sit here watching the trade deadline coverage, I can’t help but think that perhaps the Canucks don’t really need to pick up anyone. Nonis is right, we don’t need a rental so let’s think long-term here. Although I don’t doubt Richards would have provided something fresh to our team.
However, Colorado could just make a surge with their signings. And Washington should look better now.
At least I can always rely on the Giants!
I’m entering if only for the Trevor Linden figure and the sticker.
The Capitals aren’t coming out this so bad.
It’s a nice coincidence that this contest ends on my birthday…*cough*…
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
Duane.
Duane who?
Duane the tub I’m drowning!
Hahahahah!
This is my comment for the contest!
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
Lettuce.
Lettuce who?
Lettuce out, we’re freezing!
Also, I’ve got some sets of Vancouver Giants photos on my Flickr page ( http://flickr.com/photos/rebelcan ). I’m going to see if I can get a media pass once I get my 70-300 lens for my Nikon D80 so I can stand in the isles and take nice pictures of the players.
Sweet prize pack! Of course, the Trevor Linden action figure is clearly THE BEST part!
P.S. Love your comment, Duane! hahahaha
Yay! The Giants. Great hockey. I did see you at The Northern Voice, but didn’t introduce myself. I’ll catch you next time for sure.
Nice contest package! It’s too bad Dave Nonis wasn’t a little more active this morning. I was hoping that Vancouver was still in the running for getting someone like Hossa or Jokinen.
My husband likes hockey (HUGE Canucks Fan) and I like blogging… so here’s my chance to show him both can have great rewards. Thanks!
St. Peter and Satan were having an argument one day about hockey. Satan proposed a game to be played on neutral ice between a select team from the heavenly host and his own hand-picked boys. “Very well,” said the gatekeeper of Heaven. “But you realize, I hope, that we’ve got all the good players and the best coaches.” “I know, and that’s all right,” Satan answered unperturbed, “We’ve got all the referees.”
Hopefully the word “local” includes the 250 area code. I’ll hop the pond for such a great prize pack – even if I just came back from Northern Voice 08! 🙂
Hopefully two comments doesn’t disqualify me, but after some thought, it came to my attention that Richards probably wasn’t the way to go. With his contract in the $7.5M range for another year, the Canucks would be setting themselves up for some tough economics down the road. Therefore I’m glad we didn’t sell the barn for the want of a high priced horse or two.
Anywho, with the likely increase to the cap and the ability to re-up Nazzy and Mo for dollars that make sense should that be the route to go, free agency is far better than the trade route.
You may as well have thrown in a pair of front row GM Place seats to game one of the Stanley Cup Final because the Canucks just might not make it that far.
[…] one final note, I have a new contest and I think it’s pretty swell. All you need to do is leave a comment on that post or send an […]
I would be a fool to ignore this chance for a Trevor Linden action figure! Therefore a fool I shall not be. Consider me entered, madame!

Hey… I enjoy your posts and hope I win…
Count me in for anything to do with Trevor Linden. My all time fave! Cheers
The subscribe to comments plugin is nice because then I don’t need to read all the replies only the one’s I subscribe to 😉
The retro Linden sure brings back memories of 1994…
I’m muchly glad to now live in a city that isn’t as rabid about hockey as Edmonton.
Holy crap, Miss 604 sticker! I’m in!
I’m the guy smiling and nodding vacantly during the hockey conversation conversation by the water cooler. A Miss 604 sticker, though, will get a comment from me every time.
[…] you entered the great Miss604 Hockey Giveaway yet? Well, it all ends tonight when I draw a winner’s name out of all the comments I received […]
Sign me up too, I’ll use it as an excuse to go into town and take pictures.
