Northern Voice 2008: Schedule Released

Comments 1 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Northern Voice, BC’s premiere blogging, podcasting and everything internet information conference is just over a month away and registration is in full swing. They recently released the set schedule for Saturday (Friday will be the unconference-style MooseCamp) and my panel will be presenting in the 2:15pm – 2:55pm time slot.

Here’s some more information about the “Sports blogging and podcasting” panel, on which I’ll have all the members of The Crazy Canucks podcast.

  • JJ from the Canucks Hockey Blog, an ex-insider’s view of the Canucks brought out through his highly successful Canucks blog.
  • Alanah from Canucks and Beyond, hockey blogger from Vancouver Island who is a part of the Kukla’s Korner hockey empire, blogging professionally and representing our beloved Canucks – and female sports bloggers everywhere.
  • Dave Olson from the Canucks Outsider, longtime hockey pundit with an official fan perspective who brings commentary to the world through his blogs and podcasts.
  • John Bollwitt from RadioZoom, the American on our panel who has come to know and appreciate hockey as much as the rest of us. John is the podcast producer and makes podcasting and recording possible with 5 people, in 5 different places.
  • Me, lifelong Canucks fan, and die hard hockey fan – much more than an ice girl wannabe. Although my website isn’t strictly about hockey, I cover Vancouver – and this is one amazing hockey town.
  • We’re going to talk about each of our projects, since they all have a different spin, and also about the technology we use to come together a few times a month and create a podcast. From content, comments, information, “why don’t some sports organizations embrace bloggers like others?”, and the moving parts of sports blogging and podcasting. (Maybe even late night live game Twittering). The floor will certainly be open for questions that this experienced panel can address.

I’ll be puttering at MooseCamp on Friday as well, helping the organizers out a little bit, but look for me (and say hi!) and hopefully you’ll find our panel on Saturday as interesting as I think it’s going to be.

Check out the schedule, and be sure to sign up as this is one hot conference that usually sells right out.

Did I miss something? When should I have emailed the organizers to speak at a panel? DANG. No worries, I’ll attend as a participant 🙂
