It seemed like a busy weekend but it wasn’t really, I still had time to nap yesterday. I haven’t ‘napped’ in ages. We participated in the Run for the Cure [mbv] earlier that morning and our team raised about $3,200 at last count. Good stuff.
I’m still trying to find ways to make some $$ off my blog without being a totally covered in ads. I admit I haven’t looked very hard or done much research. Don’t these things just ‘happen’? :p
I wore open-toed shoes to work today and I suffered on the walk in with Laura (who still refuses to write on our Amazing Race 10 blog [ar10]). See, now if I had $$ coming in from the blog I might be able to afford me some nice closed-toe Fall type shoes *sob sob* hehe.
Speaking of Fall, I’m waiting for my sister to send me a post she’s writing about super cool fun things – that will happen some time this week as well as Miss604.com moving to WORDPRESS next weekend.
Oh boy – I’m finally entering the 2006 blogosphere. Aside from the fact that Blogger goes down so often, I really don’t have problems with it. I suppose though if I do want to become more ‘serious’ about the blogging I should be more forward-looking in the design and functionality department. That’s where you come in, John 😀

I switched to wordpress this past weekend, got my own domain and everthing, it was far easier than I thought it would be. Only thing that sucked is that since I was on blogger beta, I couldnt mass transport my posts from one to the next, so I have to do lots of cut and paste. Oh well, its forcing me to organize things.
Getting WordPress up and running for blogging is pretty easy as long as you have a host that supports PHP and all that good stuff.
WordPress gives you a ton of customizable goodness and there are loads of themes out there to download and make your site all pretty like.
I downloaded a theme for my site and have customized it a fair bit to my liking. WordPress is the goodness!
PS. If you find out how to make money on your blog, let me know, lol. I added google ads to mine a while ago and have earned just over $1 so far, yay! 😛
took me literally 5 minutes (not counting transferring my posts over)
Cool. Yeah I may also be changing providers since teh SQL support on mine will cost an arm and a leg. We’ll see – it should go very smoothly though (crossing fingers)
WordPress rocks. Wishing now that I had started out there but then I’d have “WordPress” friends instead of the Blogger-friends I have. (Say, I didn’t meet you through Blogger anyhow, but I feel like these little communities do form.)
Better to be transferring now than later. I spent quite a bit of time categorizing all of my posts (for another blog), but then you’ve already thought about what tags for your posts already.
I use godaddy, only cause it was like 3 bucks a month
Yeah John suggested that. I’ve been with this Vancouver company since I started out and yeah, the rates elsewhere are WAAAAAYYY cheaper :p
