For my mother’s 50th birthday we decided to go away – just the girls. my aunt, sister, niece, mother and i were all thinking some place far n’exotic. Around the time we actually started our planing we realized we wouldn’t be able to fly where we wanted since my sister was pregnant with Ethan. Somewhere close, somewhere far enough away to feel like you’re away, somewhere to relax… Victoria. It’s the perfect long weekend getaway. Museums, history, shops, night life, and of course… the Hotel and Spa we got hooked up with. We started doing the trips in 2002 and I even flew back for the “girls weekend” when i was living in Boston. We missed it this year – the timing wasn’t right and I was all ‘getting married’ n’ stuff :p

We’re looking at just postponing this year’s trip to the fall (to cancel it entirely would be a crime, really). I’m not sure I still have my ‘contact’ at the wicked Hotel in Victoria so we’re looking for another city. Another city that can handle 5 women from my family – from my Mom & Aunt to my niece who’s 6 years old – and of course my sister an I. Any suggestions anyone?
