‘pant bottoms hiked up just below the knees’ – we have settled in for an evening… *sigh* of baseball. john‘s a mega-cubs fans and i totally owe him some cub-watching time since i’ve pretty much monopolized the tv with my reality shows & canucks games (although he enjoys those too). so i promised we can watch games on WGN.

he was all excited about the cub’s season and the new podcasts and that tony pierce was at the dodgers/cubs game and blogged about his experience – then went on to tell me stories and blah blah baseball blah. as previously mentioned i have never been into the “sport” (and i use the term losely) but it is fun to watch when you’re in those stands or playing on a summer day.

last 4th of july his family went out to Field of Dreams in Iowa (a nice drive from where his parents are based) and spent an afternoon there. oddly enough, the man who wrote the book (Shoeless Joe) on which that movie was based is Canadian and lives in Surrey. small world.

i made him get me ice cream now i have to eat it… while i watch baseball … i gotta find me some hockey soon… or something to dull the pain mmm ice cream….
