Okay it’s too early to speculate or confirm or discuss trades – since they’re all taking place right now and for the next 3 hours. On CFOX this morning they chit chatted with John Shorthouse who basically confirmed what most of us are thinking – the Canucks need someone to help out Auld and more presence on the blue line. As he said, it really wouldn’t help us to trade away someone like Kesler (who’s been wicked this season, a workhorse with wheels and heart) for a “rental player” i.e. someone who we’d just be picking up for the playoffs. We need stay-power, we need to get rid of somebody, we need *something*. As our lawyer said the other day “they’ve become the loneliest bunch of under-achievers” hehe, talking hockey with the lawyer…
Anyhoo, so Montreal and the Avs shook this up majorly this morning although dashing our hopes at getting Theodore – if that was ever in the works at all. It appears as though we’ve just got Brown (D) from NJ for a 4th round draft pick. interesting.

Work is uber slow this morning so i’m sure i’ll be ammending this later. john’s at home enjoying the oatmeal peanut butter cookies we baked last night and i’ll be chillin over here… putting out the vibe… from my desk…

UPDATE: NJ is busy busy this morning
UPDATE: Mika Noronen (GOAL) from Buffalo for draft picks. This is rather funny since at my bachelorette we came across those 2 Finnish goalies, one was from the Thrashers (and supposed to be in the olympics but was injured) and the other was from Buffalo Sabres. Kari Lehtonen said he was in Vancouver just to support his friend. His friend being the Finnish goalie for Buffalo meaning this was probably in the works for a while now.. hmmmm

UPDATE: Keith Carney from Anaheim to the Canucks – on the ice for tonight’s game – along with Juha Alen.
UPDATE: McCarthy to Atlanta for draft pick.
UPDATE: Eric Weinrich from the Blues for …????? and elsewhere, Sergei Samsonov goes to Edmonton and Recchi to Carolina.
