WTS - What the Surrey #10 - Logo Contest
By Miss604
Surrey’s looking for a better image, literally. The city wants your feedback so that they can produce a shiney new logo to augment the current coat of arms. Residents can participate by filling out a survey, there’s also a chance to win various prizes when you provide input.
Fleetwood Community Festival - September 8th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Fleetwood Community Centre
SPCA Paws for a Cause - September 9th at Fleetwood Park from 9:00am to 3:00pm
Terry Fox Run - September 16th from 9:00am (registration) and 10:00am run start time. Locations include: Fraser Heights Village, Cloverdale Recreation Centre, Bear Creek Park and South Surrey Athletic Park
Apple Day - September 22nd at the Historic Stewart Farm from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
We want your thoughts on Surrey as we develop a fresh new logo that reflects the qualities and attributes that make our City so special. The purpose of this survey is to identify themes and ideas that may accentuate the positive aspects of living in Surrey. [Surrey.ca]
Unfortunately since I do not currently reside in Surrey, I can’t answer the survey or enter the contest so I’m counting on my sister and mother to enter and share whatever they win with me.
Upcoming events in the City of Parks include:

I like the Surrey CoA, but the city can’t figure out how to use it.
When the Arms are boiled down to a monochrome silhouette, like on the doors of the City trucks, they’re indistinguishable from half the other city arms around: two animals holding up a shield. The Heralds did a good job with the arms (except they need a sixth star for Fleetwood) but the city’s PR people would rather use some crayon scribble (and probably pay some consultant 5 figures for it)
